Office of Community Liaison

Office of Community Liaison

NIH is proud of its membership in the Bethesda community and is devoted to remaining a good neighbor. The Office of Community Liaison has a long-standing partnership with the Bethesda and surrounding communities and is dedicated to serving the interests and well-being of our neighbors.

The mission of the NIH Office of Community Liaison is to:

  1. Advise the NIH Director on policies, programs, and issues involving the NIH and its community;
  2. Plan and direct activities to promote collaboration and cooperation between the NIH and its community;
  3. Conduct and oversee studies, projects, and evaluations designed to address problems, questions, and issues of community concern and environmental impact;
  4. Ensure that NIH activities that affect the community involve community representation at all levels of design, review, and implementation; and
  5. Ensure effective communication and collaboration on policy and programs involving the community between the Office of the Director and operating components of the NIH.

Unless otherwise noted, the Community Liaison Council (CLC) will meet from 4 to 5:30 p.m., in the Natcher Building, lower level Conference Room D the 3rd Thursday of every other month. There are no meetings in August.

Please feel free to contact our office with your comments or concerns via e-mail at odocl@od.nih.gov(link sends e-mail).
